Lay's Potato Chip Recall Canada - Salmonella

HEALTH HAZARD ALERT - VARIOUS FOODS CONTAINING HYDROLYZED VEGETABLE PROTEINS (HVP) RECALLED BY BASIC FOOD FLAVORS INC. MAY CONTAIN SALMONELLA BACTERIA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume the foods described below because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. These foods contain dry powder and paste hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) ingredients which have been recalled in the U.S. and Canada by Basic Food Flavors Inc. due to Salmonella contamination.

The following flavours and sizes of Lay's Potato Chip manufactured in Canada have been recalled:

Brand: Lay's
Product: Smokey Bacon Flavour Potato Chips
Sizes: 43g (Fresh Until dates between MR 23 and MA 4, inclusive) and 235 gram (Fresh Until dates between MR 23 and AL 27, inclusive)
UPC Codes: 0 60410 06043 8 and 0 60410 07032 1

This is part of a wider alert that involves a number of snack foods and dips that have been made in Canada and the U.S. and distributed nation-wide.
